Christmas Past

Hi:  I haven't posted for a while.  Leading up to Christmas, I was under a shipping deadline to finish a "book" for my brother, Art.  I DID ship on time, but the post office didn't cooperate.  His and Lexie's gifts arrived one day after Christmas.  Sigh.  Moral of the story, get it done early.

This was a fun box to make, so I thought I'd share it with you.  All kinds of paper, lining, stamping, inking, embellishments etc.  Lots of hours in this thing!

For those curious about the photos, there's Lexie, Art and Mom at their wedding.  Art and I in much younger days...Mom too.  Plus Jerry and I at our wedding.

Fun to make!  I'm planning a similar effort soon.

Happy New Year!!!  Stay safe!

Pillows

Two more pillow boxes.  I think they are the prettiest yet.

Pillow Boxes

These are so much fun to make.  The die that I use to cut them also creases them where they need to be folded.  Before I fold, I ink, stain etc.  These aren't finished.  They still need embellishments and tags, not to mention, something inside.

December, already?

New month, new card.  One shot shows the metallic well, the other shows the colors better.

Project Finished. New cards & tags for sale on my website.

Card and tags are now listed on my web site.  Please visit.  Here's the link:
SHOP Cards & Tags.

Thought you might like to see what's been keeping me busy lately.

There are just a couple of flaws that I must fix as soon as more glitter arrives.  Hey!  If it were perfect, you wouldn't know that I made it, right?

One Last Card for a While

Showing my latest just FYI.  My plans include making a few more and listing on my web site.  The people who have seen them in person seem to love them and want them.  So, I've sold a couple.  When I have a few more, I'll list and let you know.

For the immediate future, however, I'm working on a major project for Christmas.  It's very complex and adorable.  Bigger than a card.  Smaller than a car.  Hahaha.

Here's the last card for a while.

Relapses Should Not be Allowed!

And yet they are.  And mine was awful.  Nearly three weeks all told at home doing nothing but shopping for more Tim Holtz distressed stuff.  I'm really loaded up now with dozens of projects awaiting.

Here's one I really like.  Tags are so much fun to make.  There probably isn't a market for them, but I have had some queries.  I'm thinking of waiting until I have a pretty good inventory and listing on Etsy and my web site.  We'll see.  I'll list cards too.  I've given a few of those away and have gotten lots of great comments back.

Well, here today's .....  It's a tag for a wine bottle I'm taking to a Thanksgiving dinner.  Of course, the wine bottle itself will be "dressed" as well.

Recovered....almost

Whew!  I don't get sick very often, but when I do, yikes.

Now, however, that I'm back among the living, lots to do to catch up.  New inks to play with, new die cuts to try out, and just lots of toys awaiting my attention.

In the meantime, here's another card I made before I was downed.  Watch for more soon.

Where Have I Been?

Yes, it's still always about me.  I've been off being sick.  I got a flu shot and got sick.  I'm not saying they're related, but I don't really believe in coincidences.  Do you?  Before I was taken down, I finished a couple more cards.  For your viewing enjoyment, here they are.

I'll write more soon, after I catch with stuff I must get done today.

Still Swerving Off

I just know that I do not have enough to do.  I am still doing alcohol ink paintings, which I thoroughly enjoy.  I'm also now doing Zentangles.  Google it.  (I'll show some one of these days.) And taking my ink "paintings" into backgrounds for cards.   Thus, I'm now "stamping" and using all sorts of other inks and stains and attachments for the cards.  It's fun.  Way more fun than buying cards!

Here's my latest.

Beta Test

Just when I'm settling into my new hobby, alcohol ink painting, I swerve off on something else.  THIS something else is similar.  Here's a "beta test" for your opinions.  Yes, I can do better, I think the concept is kinda cool.  What do you think??

Series Finale

The final in my current series.  Why?  Because new colors are on their way.  More experiments.  I'm also playing around with stamps and making cards.  The alcohol inks made such fabulous background for almost anything.  Even with nothing on them, they're pretty.  So, stay tuned.  Same time, same place.  (not really)

Did I Mention the Hurricane?

Tucson.  Hurricane!  Who knew?  Yes, it was headed our way.  For days, we watched the news, and for days we were told 4 - 8 inches of rain.  For days, we were asked to stay off the roads, etc.  What did I do?  I made a grocery run for comfort food, drained water from my pool, cleared my calendar.  What did the hurricane do?  It dissipated and turned right just before Tucson.  Of course, we were all thrilled.  No flooding.  Now I want to know when everyone is going to pick up their sandbags.

But let's digress.  My latest alcohol ink painting...just a glorious one!

AND, it's for sale on my web site at SmallArt.net.  Just click on the link above!

Monsoon season is coming to an end, so I doubt we'll have anymore rain issues.  This was a rare year.

Okay. SOME options.

If I write my blog HERE on Blogger, it does in fact post on my web site.  So I'll stick with doing all my writing on this site.

While I have your attention, here's another painting just posted today:

Not so many options as before

I tried using a software to migrate my blog to two other sites.  Doesn't work.  Pain in the neck.  Notta gonna do it.  So, I may or may not repeat my blogs here.

But check out my new paintings on my site;

Options. We have options.

While designing a new web site, new ads for eBay, getting back on Etsy, putting Etsy on my new Facebook Fan Page, I have filled in, checked off, written up, and been through so many options, my mind reels.

But today, my new web site is done:  SmallArt.net, my new fan page on Facebook is done  www.facebook.com/pages/SmallArt/342996705868372, my blog on my personal page:  luannjamison.com, is it's own thing, but my SmallArt.net blogger syncs with Blogger: http://smallartdesigns.blogspot.com, and I Tweet!

I confess, however, that I have not finished updating my options on Blogger.  Today's task.

In the meantime, I thought everyone would like to see what the sunsets look like here in Arizona.
